Ecogee is committed to leaving a positive impact in the communities we work in. We put all our profits back into regenerating places as well as including Social Value work alongside our projects.
Our relationship with Bridge Community Centre is a great example of this in action. This
social value is part of the SHDF work we are
doing in the area for Cobalt Housing.
Ecogee has been supporting the centre since Christmas, when the team donated festive hampers to help local families. The relationship continued into Easter, with Ecogee delivering chocolate Easter eggs for families to enjoy – a small gesture that helped bring a bit of joy to the community.
During one of these visits, Sue, who manages the centre, pointed out an unused corner of the main room and shared her vision for transforming it into a functional storage cupboard. Creating this space would help the centre operate more efficiently and make better use of its busy communal area.
Recognising the value this would bring, Ecogee secured funding for the project and arranged for Ste, our Joiner, to assess and transform the space. Ste designed and built a large, purpose-built cupboard that maximises storage capacity – a practical improvement that will support the centre for years to come.
Bridge Community Centre were thrilled with the outcome, and Sue later shared a heartfelt message on Facebook praising the team’s support, craftsmanship and the positive difference the new storage space will make to the centre.
Sue’s feedback and the centre’s response demonstrate how small, practical interventions can create lasting benefits for community organisations.
Using the HACT Social Value Calculator, the combined donation and volunteer time generated £684.80 in social value – a measurable outcome that reflects the real-world difference these small interventions can make.
