Working with Liverpool Women’s Hospital

All of Ecogee’s profits go back into creating social value and regenerating places. We’re not here to make money for shareholders. We are here to improve homes, support communities and make the places where we work better – and we really care about Liverpool.

We’re supporting Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity because it’s at the heart of many of the communities we serve. The hospital sits just a few miles from many of the neighbourhoods where we deliver retrofit and energy efficiency projects. It supports thousands of local women, babies and families every year, including families connected to our own colleagues, friends partners and suppliers.

So, we asked them a really simple question: What can we do to help?

We got together with M&Y and our supply-chain partners to contribute something meaningful. Some people gave their time, some provided financial donations and others contributed with materials, labour and their professional expertise.

Together, the small acts of support add up to something much bigger:

  • Financial support for families using the hospital
  • Improvements to family accommodation
  • Support for hospital gardens and outdoor spaces
  • Volunteer-led wellbeing activities
  • Care packages for families
  • Donated materials, labour and professional expertise
  • An ongoing relationship with Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity

For Kerry and Tom, it means there are more comfortable spaces in the family accommodation for them while they visit their poorly baby in neonatal care.

For Lorna, Sara, and Jim, the garden is now a calm place to sit and eat lunch after a long 10 hour shift.

And Kate can give wellbeing care packages for families going through difficult times, when there isn’t anything to say other than ‘we hope this helps.’

Measuring social value

We’ve generated £21,050.35 in social value – what does this mean?

Social value is built into the way we work. through retrofit, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects across the North West, we help create warmer homes, support local communities, reduce carbon emissions and generate lasting value beyond the work we deliver.

We use a tool called HACT, HACT partners with organisations across the housing sector to drive value for residents and communities. We monitor, report and make sure we can measure the impact of our social value activities in HACT[ER1] .

Our relationship with Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity has grown across several projects because it is based on listening, trust and a shared commitment to local families.

Where retrofit meets purpose

Our day job is making homes warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient, but future proofing better homes are only part of our impact.

Every successful Ecogee project helps us reinvest in people and places across the North West. It allows us to support charities, create opportunities, share our skills and contribute to communities long after the installation work is finished.

Social Value is not something we just “do alongside the business”, Social Value and regenerating places is our ‘why’.
