Over the past 3 years, we have been delivering solar, loft and cavity insulation works in a combined SHDF and planned works project to homes for Cobalt Housing. We have delivered the works to PAS2035 standards, acting as Principal Contractor. 

Margaret and Arthur received a retrofit assessment to help identify what kind of energy measures would be best in her home, to improve warmth, comfort and improve the energy efficiency of their home.

All of this is great for our client and future proofing homes, but what does the people living in the homes actually think? What benefits did they see in their home?  

Margaret and Arthur were keen to let us know! 

“The work was spot on. We had the solar system put in, we’re made up with it – no problems at all. 

I haven’t put any money in the meter since. I put money in the week before they did it and I out money in yesterday and that’s the first time. I didn’t even ned to put any money in but we did!”  

As well as the work being done, we wanted to know their opinion on the team carrying out the work:  

“The fellas were excellent, pleasant and talkative – they were really good! They got on with the work, and everything was on time and there were no delays.  

Sometimes you didn’t even know they were here! They were clean and they cleaned up after themselves, and they cleaned up for me!  

You just can’t fault them, they were really lovely, they were on time and they let us know where they were up to and what time and everything!”  

In partnership with Cobalt Housing and our other clients, we’ve been reducing the carbon emissions and energy bills of over 382 homes across the North West!  

We’re so happy to hear about what a positive experience that Margaret and Arthur had with the Ecogee team, and the positive benefits that the home improvements have brought them!  

The project has improved the energy efficiency of the homes which previously had an energy performance (EPC) rated below SAP Band D, and the standard of kitchens and bathrooms within the properties. 

Delivered as part of Wave 2 Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) programme, the project has enabled all eligible homes to reach an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above. 

Works, delivered by Ecogee, included the installation of external wall and loft insulation, solar panels, and smart heating controls.
