The people closest to a service often understand it best. 

That is part of what makes Lori’s journey so special. As a Cobalt Housing resident, Lori already understands the importance of feeling informed, listened to and supported when work is taking place in your home. Now, she is bringing that perspective to Ecogee as our new Trainee Tenant Liaison Officer! 

Retrofit can involve new technology, unfamiliar terminology and several different people entering a resident’s home. Even when the outcome is positive, the process can feel daunting. 

That is where Tenant Liaison Officers come in. 

Lori will help residents understand what is happening, what they can expect and who they can speak to if they have questions. She will support people before, during and after their improvement works, helping to make the experience as positive as the outcome. 

In other words, Lori’s job is not just to explain the work. It is to make sure residents feel part of the journey. 

Lori said: 

“I’m really excited to have joined the team and I’m looking forward to developing my skills, learning more about the role and getting to know both the team and the tenants I’ll be working with. 

“I enjoy meeting new people and learning from others because everyone has different experiences, knowledge and perspectives to share.” 

Investment in homes should create opportunities too 

Ecogee’s partnership with Cobalt Housing is an opportunity to create employment, training and development routes for people living in the communities where we work. 

And this is what it looks like in practice: a local resident beginning a new career while helping other residents navigate improvements to their homes. 

It’s a meaningful opportunity for someone from the community to become part of the team serving it. Lori has already made a brilliant start, and we are looking forward to supporting her as she develops her skills, builds her confidence and makes the role her own.
