Energy Efficiency Updates at Torentum Court: 132 Solar Panels installed at Regenda Homes’ Scheme

As part of The Regenda Group, Ecogee just delivered over £700k of energy‑efficiency works at Torentum Court, Regenda Homes’ Independent Living Scheme in Fleetwood.

Residents are already feeling the difference with warmer, quieter, cheaper to run homes. Mrs. Goulding, a Regenda Homes resident at Torentum Court, told us:

“My home is already warmer and quieter, we’ve had no issues with anything.”

The energy efficiency improvements are part funded by Warm Homes: Local Grant in collaboration with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. The real on site regeneration for a supported living scheme that started at EPC D and is now EPC C.

Energy efficiency works delivered by Ecogee:

  • 132 solar panels (installed since late August)
  • New loft insulation
  • Upgraded ventilation systems

Regenda’s two-year investment plan adds:

  • Full roof replacement
  • New cladding
  • Communal door upgrades
  • Telecare & door entry system upgrades
  • New fencing and boundary works
  • Internal & external decoration refresh
  • Removal of redundant garages and bin stores.

We asked David Nunes, our project Lead, about the job:

  • On delivery: “Well organised, efficient, minimal disruption. Surveys, design, coordination, communication, everything flowed!”

  • On impact: “Solar and insulation mean long-term demand reduction and bill stability. In supported living, that matters every day.”

  • On partnership: “A benchmark collaboration. Regenda’s teams and ours shared one priority: residents’ comfort and lasting asset improvement.”

  • On approach: “Early engagement, daily TLO checkins, tight scheduling. Knock and wait and clear explanations go a long way.”

  • On the bigger picture: “Community scale retrofit like this cuts carbon and delivers real gains for residents. The North West needs more of it.”

… and on the ground we spoke to Andrew Smith, our Retrofit Assessor:

  • The transformation: “From a bare roof to the full solar cover, it’s brilliant. You can see it in the photos and you can feel it in the homes.”

  • The team: “The team were small but so dedicated, from first survey to final inspection. We’re often the first faces residents meet, so clarity really matters.”

  • Resident response: “Curious, positive, engaged. Showing aerial footage helped the benefits click and helped residents learn about Solar Panels.”

Maria O’Connor, Operations Director at Ecogee, was pleased to say:

“Torentum Court was 132 panels of a supported living scheme, showing what effective retrofit looks like, high quality technical work delivered with care for residents’ routines and comfort. It’s the first of many schemes where we’ll reduce energy use, cut carbon and improve the homes people rely on every day.”
