Warm Home Local Grant

How to apply for the Warm Home Local Grant.

What is WHLG?

WHLG stands for Warm Home Local Grant. It’s a government-funded grant scheme that provides energy efficiency upgrades and low carbon heating to eligible households. The goal of WHLG is to make homes warmer and cheaper to run.

The Warm Home Local Grant is how we’re working in partnership with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority  and Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council to provide funded energy efficiency upgrades to your home.

How do I know if I’m eligible for the WHLG?

Households wanting to apply for WHLG must meet all funding conditions:

  • Properties with an EPC band D to G
  • Owner occupiers or private rented tenants (Landlord Contribution Required after 1st property treated at 50%)
  • Households’ annual income of £36,000 or below, Having additional vulnerability as set out in route 2 of Eco Flex Criteria

or

  • Households living within eligible postcodes (we can check this for you!)

If you qualify for funding, we’ll perform a home survey of the property to make sure we can install upgrades.
