The UK Government has launched its Warm Homes Plan, which aims to tackle high energy bills and fuel poverty across the UK. The Plan is set to invest close to £15 billion, making it the biggest energy efficiency initiative in British history.
The plan aims to upgrade up to five million homes by 2030 helping:
- low-income families
- renters
- social housing tenants
UK Government-backed grants can include:
- solar panels
- battery storage
- heat pumps
- smart controls
- home insulation
- draught proofing
The Warm Homes Plan is all about reducing energy bills for those who need it most. The funding packages available for solar panels and a battery could be worth around £9,000 to £12,000 per home (based on current costs).
This announcement makes these changes much more realistic for everyone, bringing low carbon homes with low energy bills much closer to reality.
