At Ecogee, sustainability is about more than construction. It is about creating opportunities that shape the future, which is why we proudly funded the first-ever Positive Footprints Aspirations Day at Trafford Hall.
This event marked the beginning of a four-part programme that Positive Footprints is delivering in partnership with NCRC. Across the series, 400 children will have the chance to learn about future career possibilities while accessing the Raising Aspirations programme. This initiative gives pupils the skills they need to build confidence, resilience, and an understanding of their strengths as they begin thinking about their futures.
With the support of businesses like Centrica, pupils gained valuable insights into their energy use and explored renewable energy sources. Other companies, including M&Y Maintenance and Construction and the Royal Town Planning Institute, shared their career journeys, showing the many opportunities available within the built environment sector.
Beyond the classroom, outdoor education played a major role in the Aspirations Day experience. Thanks to the collaboration with NCRC and YHA, pupils took part in survival challenges that required map-reading, first aid, and rescue missions, helping them develop teamwork, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
Ecogee is committed to delivering meaningful social value, investing in education, and inspiring young minds. By supporting initiatives like Aspirations Day, we are ensuring that career-led learning is accessible, engaging, and aligned with a greener future.
Ecogee New Business and Social Value Officer, Sophie Duffy said: “We’re really proud to be funding this programme and helping to inspire the next generation about green careers. It’s so important to help children understand the wide range of opportunities our sector can offer them when they grow up and to have the confidence to imagine themselves being part of it.”
